On Being Thankful for the small things…

IMG_1488

Enjoying some time with my grandson.

This is the season for gratitude, and I for one have been blessed.  I think it is my age. Being 70 has its advantages.  No more feeling I need to compete, or worrying about my image. Now I can concentrate on the important things in life, like fishing with my grandson. As I get older riches come in different forms, hugs, laughs, kisses…

Seeing a grown child happy, with their own life choices, is something to be grateful for. Thanksgiving was a perfect time to witness this. Feeling thankful that I got to spend time with all my kids, the grown up ones and the little ones.

Find something small to be grateful for each and every day.  It can change your life.

Now back to the solitude of my studio and feeling thankful; one painting at a time…

SOLITUDE

SIERRA FALLS

Sierra Falls  14″ X 11″ acrylic on 1 1/2″ gallery wrap canvas

There is nothing better than sitting by a forest falls, water rushing into a silent pool, Jays squawking and sun sparkling on the water.  To me this is a reflection of solitude, and oneness with God.

As I get older I spend more time on spiritual endeavors and less on worldly thoughts. Peace and tranquility is what I yearn for and seek out. A few close friends and love of family is all I need. Solitude becomes my friend.

Alone with my thoughts, one painting at a time…
