Living in the Dessert Southwest, Arizona to be exact, we wait in anticipation for the Monsoon season to begin in June. The land is parched by the dry desert winds of May and is crying for the rains to come and bring life back to the arid environment. Then it happens and the washes begin to fill as the lightning crashes through the landscape. It is a time of turbulent energy, and life-giving moisture. I once again I feel whole.
I am always so thankful for this time of year. It ends the threat of wild fires and heralds in the season of wild flowers. This is my rendition of a monsoon storm raging through the area and filling the washes with life-giving water. As they say in Arizona, Whiskey is for Drinking and Water is for fighting over.
