It’s been a long time since I have done a Still Life but my heart was calling to create one. Lilacs are a favorite flower of mine, Michigan summers were hailed in with the scents and blossoms of the Lilacs that dotted our property. As a child I would run outside to pick large bouquets to distribute throughout the house. They had the most wonderful smell, that filled the house with the perfume of summer.  I still love lilacs but the environment here is not friendly to them, they grow but do not thrive as brilliantly as they did back home.  So the bouquets are smaller and less aromatic.  Still they herald to me the begining of summer and all it’s glory.
