OCTOBER… my favorite month.

“OCTOBER”  8″ X 8″ Acrylic on Gallery Wrap Canvas

October is one of my favorite times of year.  I couldn’t let it pass by without praising it.  The Fall colors are spectacular, raking those leaves and then falling into them;the smell of burning piles of leaves next to the road. So many wonderful memories, come to me during this time of year.

Memories can be a wonderful way to bring uplift and positive-energy back into a day that may feel out of control, things can get very hectic as we go through our everyday tasks.  Stop and meditate for a moment and remember all those wonderful memories that October brings back.

Enjoy the cool crisp evenings and the gentle fall breezes. Before you know it October will be gone and Fall will just be a memory.

Building My Dream

ocean-dreams

“Ocean Dreams”  24″ X 24″ Acrylic on 1 1/2″ Gallery Wrap Canvas

Dream Building, it can take many forms, mine is a constant partnership with God to work toward my own greatness and to become the artist that I have always envisioned.  See that ocean in the painting above.  My vision when I look at it spans further than the eye can see across that ocean.  If I told you my whole vision it would take more pages than I could possibly blog.  Yet it is condensed down into a beautiful picture in my mind.  I see myself living my dream everyday.

You can start building a dream at any age.  One of my favorite books that I read frequently is Mary Manin Morissey’s “Building Your Field of Dreams”. She discusses growing your dream with the assistance of God through collabortaion with others of like mind.  She calls it a “partners in believing group”. I have a few dear friends who I try to meet with monthly who have similar goals.  Helping others to reach their dreams helps you to accomplish your own dreams.  Keeping your dream in the forefront of your mind daily is extremely powerful.  Each day part of my ritual before I start to work in the studio is meditating and giving gratitude for all the abundance I all ready have and all the abundance that my dreams are moving me toward.

One of my goals toward my dream is a large ecomerce site where all of you can purchase at reasonable prices paintings or prints of my uplifting Positive-Energy Art.  I have been working on my new website for several weeks and am launching it in stages.  Next up will be my Print Store which I hope to complete in the near future.  My photographer will be getting very busy in the next few weeks.  I will be stocking my studio with all my favorite prints in different sizes and price ranges, so the selection will have something for everyone who wants to start collecting Positive-Energy Art.

The Square Look…

Follow The Moon

“Follow The Moon” 24″ x 24″ Acrylic on Gallery Wrap Canvas http://www.pameladunmirefineart.com

Today lets look at square paintings.  I have become enamoured  by them, to the point that I almost solely paint on a square canvas unless I am doing a commission for someone.  Squares create a new way to look at a subject, create a feeling, or set a mood.  You no longer need a horizontal to create a landscape or a vertical to create a figurative piece.

For an artist you can break some of the composition rules, and who doesn’t like breaking an occasional rule.  Isn’t that what art is for; Contemporary Art for sure.  I have broken lots of rules, not traffic regulations or anything that would break a law; but I do fly by the seat of my pants occasionally; that’s what us creatives do.

I love the freedom of an unconventional canvas, bring on some triangles would ya. Seriously you can create great drama, excitement and movement with a square canvas.  Contrary to popular belief, squares do not confine you to inside a box. Think outside the box, think paradigm shift, think creativity.

Join me in loving the art of a square…..  OK, OK, I am not a square, I love to party too.
