“Monsoon Coming”

So I have decided to start giving away my art.  Yes you heard me right GIVE AWAY MY ART. Well not all my art but I am starting a monthly give away. To thank all my friends and collectors. So running through the month of September you have the chance to enter and win “Monsoon Coming”.  Humour me here!!  It will be on FACEBOOK. So you need to go HERE . Then you can Like the post and comment on the post and even LIKE the page. The winner will be announced on a FACEBOOK LIVE post September 29 at 5:00pm PST.  You do not need to be on the live post to win.

So why am I doing this???  To lure you to my Business Facebook Page where you can get to know me on a more human level, otherwise I would be clogging up your e-mail box and writing to many mushy Blog Posts.

If you don’t like FaceBook that’s OK, I will figure out some other perks for my newsletter peeps and blog followers. During The Prescott Area Artists Tour  (the 1st weekend in October)I am going to have a drawing for a dynamite piece of art. But more about that in a couple of weeks.

So I hope to see you on my FaceBook Page PAMELA DUNMIRE STUDIOS.

Blessings ~Pam~                                                                                                                                         www.pameladunmirefineart.com

VERGA, STORMS IN THE HIGH DESERT

VERGA

“Verga”  9″ X 12″ acrylic on paper

The monsoons are winding down, and we will have fewer of them as we move through September, our greatest chance for a nice storm will be this week. I love when they blossom into steady rain for our parched deserts here in the Southwest. No, I don’t want flooding like our dear friends in Houston have experienced just a nice gentle rain. I love the anticipation of their approach, the verga in the distance collecting over the mesas and foot hills, the feeling of moisture on your skin and the smell of sage and soil. This is when Arizona is the most beautiful.

The above painting, #3 in my 30 paintings in 30 days challenge, depicts this beautiful feeling in some of my favorite colors; turquoise and magenta. So onward with my challenge. I will be painting in the studio on this Labor Day holiday, enjoying the clouds building up in the distance with an expectation of sweet rain returning this coming week.

If you enjoy this blog please follow along and if you love this painting you may see more like it here.

MONSOON LAKE

Monsoon Lake

“Monsoon Lake”  24″ X 24″ acrylic on 1 1/2″ gallery wrap canvas

The monsoon storms have set up a ferocious pattern in Northern Arizona.  It’s wonderful how much rain we are getting. The brilliant sunsets and the thunder and lightning crackling overhead, put an electricity and beauty into the environment that leaves a deep excitement and wonder.  The lakes are beginning to fill again, and the second bloom of wildflowers are starting to push through the soil.   What could show God’s blessing on this earth more than a monsoon?

As an artists this is the season of inspiration.  It is no wonder that I choose to paint one of our beautiful lakes during the monsoon. I love the energy of the monsoon and the colors that imprint on the sky, what better time than now for an artist that proclaim’s Positive-Energy Art.  It definitely resides on this website and here for you to enjoy.

Painting Arizona and the Southwest one adventure at a time.
